Lady Texans Compete at Charlie Thomas Invitational, Maintain Strong National Qualifying Marks
The South Plains College Lady Texans traveled to College Station on February 6–7 to compete in the Charlie Thomas Invitational, continuing their indoor season against a competitive field while adding to their list of national-qualifying performances.
COLLEGE STATION, TX - In the women's 400 meters, Nour Rahou placed 15th with a time of 55.03. Rahou also anchored the Lady Texans' 4x400-meter relay team, which included Mathilde Maison, Cheffonia Houston and Morgane Lenoir. The quartet finished 13th with a time of 3:48.11.
Field events saw Rachel Couderc finish 15th in the high jump after clearing 1.60 meters. Leticia Ouaba placed seventh in the long jump with a mark of 5.88 meters, while Kahllah Bailey recorded a 13th-place finish in the shot put with a throw of 13.59 meters.
After three meets, the Lady Texans have compiled multiple national-qualifying marks for the indoor season:
400 Meters: Nour Rahou – 55.03 (2nd)
600 Meters: Nour Rahou – 1:33.42 (2nd)
60-Meter Hurdles: Oluwatumininu Sanyaolu – 8.75 (8th)
4x400 Relay: Rahou, Maison, Houston, Lenoir – 3:48.11 (2nd)
High Jump: Rachel Couderc – 1.60m (8th)
Long Jump: Leticia Ouaba – 5.88m (2nd)
Triple Jump: Leticia Ouaba – 12.73m (1st)
Shot Put: Kahllah Bailey – 13.71m (5th), Suerena Alexander – 12.74m (8th)
The Lady Texans will continue their indoor season next weekend at Texas Tech University when they compete in the Jarvis Scott Invitational.
