Jacob Thompson joins the South Plains College men’s track and field team as a freshman for the 2025–2026 season, competing in the long jump and triple jump. A native of Dallas, Texas, and a graduate of Prestonwood Christian Academy, Jacob was a 3-time Field Events MVP, holds the school triple jump record, won a bronze medal in triple jump at TAPPS 6A, and earned District Championship Field Athlete of the Meet honors.
His goals include competing at the NCAA Division I level and eventually earning a master’s degree in Kinesiology, while continuing to excel both academically and athletically.
