SPC Rodeo Shines in Lovington at NMJC Rodeo
The South Plains College Rodeo Team had an outstanding weekend at the New Mexico Junior College Rodeo in Lovington, NM, held October 23-25. The Texans brought home multiple top finishes, with several athletes advancing to the short round and earning major titles.

The South Plains College Rodeo Team had an outstanding weekend at the New Mexico Junior College Rodeo in Lovington, NM, held October 23-25. The Texans brought home multiple top finishes, with several athletes advancing to the short round and earning major titles.
Short Round Qualifiers:
- Zaran Kirkpatrick - 2nd in Goat Typing
- Sierra Telford - 7th in Barrel Racing; tied for 5th in Breakaway Roping
- Kassidy Robertson - 6th in Team Roping (Header)
- Kail Brunson - 1st in Team Roping (Header)
- Trey Huwa - 1st in Team Roping (Heeler)
- Jansten Morris - 3rd in Team Roping (Header)
- Jayden Morris - 3rd in Team Roping (Heeler)
- Cactus Barnes - 7th in Team Roping (Header)
- Colt Call - 7th in Team Roping (Heeler)
Final Results:
- Jayden Morris and Jantsen Morris took 1st in Team Roping with a 14.2 average and 145 points.
- Zaran Kirkpatrick finished 2nd int he average in Goat Typing with a 19.2, earning big points for SPC.
- Sierra Telford was 4th in the round for Barrel Racing and 5th in the average with 35.97.
- Sierra Telford finished 3rd in the average in Breakaway Roping with a 7.4
- Sierra Telford clinched the Women's All-Around Title.
Thanks to strong performances across the board, the SPC Women's Team also claimed the Women's Team Championship title.
