LEVELLAND — Collegiate history was on the brink entering the final day. The South Plains College Texans held a 23-point margin over Iowa Central after day two of the 2016 NJCAA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships at the Texan Track and Field Stadium in Levelland.
LUBBOCK—With a little more than a week remaining until the NJCAA Outdoor national championship meet on the campus of South Plains College in Levelland, the South Plains track and field teams competed in the 2016 Masked Rider Open at Texas Tech University over the weekend.

WINSTON-SALEM, NORTH CAROLINA— The South Plains College Texans and Lady Texans track and field teams traveled nearly 1200 miles across the country to compete in the 2016 NJCAA Indoor National Championships on March 4-5 in Winston-Salem North Carolina.
LEVELLAND— The South Plains College Track and Field teams were back in action this weekend in Levelland to compete in their final Indoor meet before heading to NJCAA Indoor National meet on March 4 in Winstom Selem, North Carolina.
The South Plains College Track and Field teams made their third appearance of the 2016 Indoor season this weekend after competing in the Tyson Invitational at the University of Arkansas. Following the weekend, the Texans and Lady Texans have now accumulated 68 national qualifying marks, and currently hold the top position in several events. The Texans were lead by DeVante Lacy in the 400 meters, who's time of 46.61 was good enough for first place, and currently sits as the fastest time in the NJCAA.
COLLEGE STATION— The South Plains College men's and women's track and field teams competed in their second indoor competition this weekend at the Charlie Thomas Invitational at Texas A&M University.
