SPC Cross Country Excels at Region V Championship in Hobbs
The South Plains College Cross Country teams turned in strong performances at the Region V NJCAA Championship, held October 25th at Harry McAdams Park in Hobbs, New Mexico. Competing against some of the top programs in the region, the Texans and Lady Texans posted several personal bests and have several nationals bound.

Women's Results:
- Alison Guaman - 17th, 19:18.9
- Jennifer Lozano - 33rd, 21:07.7
- Destinee Perez- 39th, 21:48.7
- Icela Swaby - 42nd, 22:09.8
With her top-20 finish, Alison Guaman will be competing at the NJCAA National Cross Country Championships in Fort Dodge, Iowa, on November. 8th

The SPC men's team earned a third-place finish overall and will advance several runners to the NJCAA National Meet, including Dennis Cheruiyot, Ylies Mihoubi, Abdirisak Saidgurhan, Grayson Hastings, Yassine Bounasri, and Donovan Martinez.
Distance Coach Toby Kirk praised the effort and progress of both squads, saying "The team had a good day and we ran lots of personal bests with great experience moving forward! We are excited to see what is in store and have some great things ahead."
The SPC Men's Cross Country Team, currently ranked 14th in the nation, will now look to carry that momentum into the NJCAA National Championships on NOvember 8th in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
