Lady Texans Open Season at Texas Tech Open
LUBBOCK, Texas - The South Plains College women's cross country team began their 2025 season on Friday, September 12, at the Texas Tech open hosted at the LCU XC Course.
Freshman Alison Guaman Tisalema led the Lady Texans with a standout performance, placing 18th overall in a competitive field. She was followed by Jennifer Lozano (61st), Icela Swaby (67th), and Destinee Perez (82nd), rounding out the team's top finishers.
"We're excited to get the season started with largely a new group on both the men's and women's sides. There was some stiff competition today, but I thought both teams gave a strong effort and represented South Plains well in our opener. For a first meet, it was a solid showing of what we can expect moving forward, and I'm looking forward to seeing how we build heading into our next competition." - Head Coach Wes Miller
The Lady Texans will return to competition on Friday, September 26, at the New Mexico Junior College Invitational in Hobbs, New Mexico.
