Kibiwott takes individual title at NMHU Jam
LAS VEGAS, N.M. – The South Plains College Texan and Lady Texan cross country teams completed their third meet of the 2014 season Saturday, Sept. 27 at the New Mexico Highlands Jamboree.

Sophomore Antibahs Kibiwott claimed his first individual title of the season, recording a time of 24 minutes, 58.70 seconds, nearly a minute ahead of his next competitor.
Hassan Abdi (25:55.59), Jose Martinez (26:36.13), and Kelvin Keter (27:24.59) also finished in the top 10 while Jacob Clark (27:52.74) and Isaac Clark (28:31.47) were 12th and 13th.
The Texans finished just a point behind host New Mexico Highlands for the team title with 28 points.
The Lady Texans also put three in the top 10 with freshman Victoria Salvadores (19:32.81) leading the way in third. Lyndi Hanson (19:44.88) was only a spot behind Salvadores in fourth and J'Cee Holmes (20:29.56) was sixth.
Kassidi Jones (21:18.92) and Kaitlyn Henderson (22:45.31) rounded out the Lady Texan team score with 12th and 16th place finishes, respectively.
The South Plains cross country teams will resume their season Oct. 11 when they travel to Hobbs, N.M. for a meet hosted on the campus of New Mexico Junior College.
