Texans Cross Country team moves to top spot in latest NJCAA rankings
LEVELLAND – The South Plains College Texan cross country team jumped to No. 1 in the latest NJCAA National rankings, up from No. 4 a week ago following the New Mexico Junior College Open in Hobbs, N.M.

The Lady Texans are still ranked in the top 10, though they dropped two spots to No. 9.
The rankings indicate the Texans may be peaking at the right time as the regular season has ended and post-season competition set to begin Oct. 25 with the Region 5 Championships.
On Saturday, Nov. 8, the top-ranked Texans and ninth-ranked Lady Texans will host the NJCAA National Cross Country Championships at Shadow Hills Golf Course in Lubbock.
