Denise Rosario enters her second season as the assistant women's basketball coach at South Plains College. Prior to her arrival in Levelland, Rosario worked three years as an assistant coach at Odessa College. Coach Rosario helped the Lady Wranglers win the Region V Championship for two consecutive years and advance to Sweet 16 and the Elite Eight of the NJCAA Division 1 Tournament in 2018 and 2019, respectively. During the academic year of 2019-2020, Rosario helped the Wranglers’ women’s basketball team earn NJCAA Academic Team of the Year honors with a 3.85 GPA.

A native of Ipatinga, Minas Gerais, Brazil, Rosario served as a graduate assistant coach at William Woods University in Fulton, MO. During the 2012-13 season, Rosario helped William Woods (26-6) advance to the Sweet 16 in the NAIA National Championship. The following season, Rosario helped the Lady Owls make it to the first round of the 34th Annual NAIA Women's Basketball National Tournament.

Prior to joining the William Woods coaching staff, Rosario played basketball at Columbia College in Columbia, MO. During her time at Columbia College, the Lady Cougars made four NAIA National Tournament appearances, including the Elite 8 in 2008-09.

At the NAIA level, Rosario was named America Midwest Conference Honorable Mention All-Conference and Newcomer Player of the Year.

At the NJCAA level, Rosario was named Honorable Mention All-American and First Team All-Region for two consecutive years.

Besides being successful on the basketball court, Rosario has a Bachelor of Science in Human Services with a minor in Psychology from Columbia College and a Master of Education in Athletics/Activities Administration from William Woods University.
