#9 South Plains College Lady Texans Outlast Kilgore College 86-82 in Overtime at the Collin College Thanksgiving Classic

PLANO, TX - In a thrilling matchup filled with momentum swings and clutch performances, the No. 9 South Plains College Lady Texans defeated Kilgore College 86-82 in overtime on November 28th, 2025, at the Collin College Thanksgiving Classic.

The game featured back-and-forth action throughout all four quarters, with neither team able to create significant separation. After battling through multiple lead changes, the Lady Texans entered the final minute of regulation locked in a tight contest. Kilgore managed to pull even, and the teams ended regulation tied at 72-72, sending the matchup into overtime. 

In the extra period, South Plains found another gear, outscoring Kilgore 14-10 to secure the hard-fought victory. 

Angelina Joao led the Lady Texans with a standout double-double, posting 23 points and 11 rebounds. Daniela Gongo followed with 13 points, while Maya Braxton-Young shined across the stat sheet with 12 points, 7 assists, and 6 rebounds. Isabel Joao also reached double figures, finishing with 12 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists, helping pact the offense in key moments. 

With the win, the Lady Texans improve to 9-1 on the season. 

South Plains continues to play at the Collin College Thanksgiving Classic on Saturday, November 29th, taking on Tyler Junior College in their second game of the weekend.
