Lady Texans up against familiar faces in fall finale
LEVELLAND, Texas – The South Plains College Lady Texan basketball team will face the Dallas Diesel club team Saturday, Dec. 1 at 4 p.m. to wrap up their fall schedule before taking a break for the Christmas Holidays.
South Plains (8-2) will be up against a couple of former Lady Texans when they square off against the team made up of former college basketball players as Ashley Frazier and Rachel Gray are expected to play against their former team.
Frazier played for South Plains College from 2006-2008, scoring 495 points in 59 games. During her two seasons, Frazier became the all-time Lady Texan assists leader with 332 before transferring to the University of Arizona in Tucson. Frazier also helped South Plains College to back-to-back WJCAC conference championships.
Gray, meanwhile, played at South Plains with Frazier for one year while she attended SPC from 2007-2009. During her two seasons, Gray played in 57 games and scored 360 points for the Lady Texans.
Through 10 games, TaSheena Moore is leading the Lady Texans with 16.4 points per game. She is receiving plenty of support as five other Lady Texans are averaging more than eight points per game as well.
After beginning the season with six consecutive victories, the Lady Texans are 2-2 in the their last four contests with losses to Hutchinson (Nov. 17) and Collin (Nov. 24) and victories over Tyler (Nov. 16) and Lubbock Christian's JV (Nov. 26).
