SPC cross country ready for HU Jamboree

LEVELLAND – Coming off solid performances at the Texas Tech Red Raider Open Sept. 13 in Lubbock, the NJCAA fourth-ranked Texans and No. 5-ranked Lady Texans are ready to travel for the HU Cross Country Jamboree Saturday, Sept. 28 hosted by New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas, N.M.
Hosted at the Gene Torres Golf Course, the event will be kicked off when the collegiate women toe the line at 10 a.m. for the 5,000-meter competition. The collegiate men's 8,000-meter run will follow at 11 a.m. Participating teams include New Mexico Highlands, Oklahoma Panhandle University, Western New Mexico, Dine College, and South Plains.
This weekend's cross country action begins a string of three consecutive competitive weekends for the Texans and Lady Texans. Following the HU Cross Country Jam, South Plains will host a meet of their own on Saturday, Oct. 5 and then travel to Hobbs, N.M., for a meet hosted by New Mexico JC on Saturday, Oct. 12.
