Ethan Martinez
Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach
Ethan Martinez enters his first season at South Plains College after earring his Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Texas in 2025. A Houston native and graduate of Lamar High School, Martinez spent three years at UT working in support staff and recruiting, gaining valuable experience in program operations and player development.
Martinez chose South Plains College because of its winning tradition and his belief in the vision of Head Coach Cinco Boone. He brings a unique energy and perspective to the program, emphasizing his ability to connect with student-athletes and motivate them to reach their potential.
Ethan is the son of Virginia Martinez and John Martinez, both still residents of Houston, Texas. He credits his family for instilling in him the values of hard work, dedication, and perseverance.
