No. 22 Texans Win on the Road at Frank Phillips

The No. 22 Texans defeated Frank Phillips College 77-60, placing them in a tie with Howard College for the top seed in the Western Junior College Athletic Conference.

Emmanuel Omogbo led South Plains with 29 points and 14 rebounds. Jerron Martin andAndre Spight scored double digits with13 points each for the Texans.

 

Trailing by four with little over five minutes remaining in the first half, South Plains' Pat Birtmade a three-point shot to place the Texans ahead by two. From that point the Texans took the lead by as much as 20 late in the second half. 

 

Heading into the last week of conference play, South Plains will take on Midland College (17-12, 7-8), Feb. 23 at the Texan Dome, and then head to Odessa College (20-8, 8-7), Feb. 26.

 

Monday's game against Midland will also be Homecoming for 2015, so come and support the Texans and Lady Texans. Women's basketball will begin at 5:45 p.m with the Texans to follow immediately after.
