Texans Fall to Temple College
SPC fell behind early after the Leopards began the game with a 10-0 scoring run and trailed by as many as 15 points in the first seven minutes of the game. The Texans fought back and eventually gained the lead 34-33 with two minutes to play. By halftime TC had regained the lead, 38-34.
Two minutes into the second half Myles Walker tied the game 42-42 after converting a free throw attempt. At that point, the Texans then went on a 7-2 scoring run to take their largest lead of the contest, 49-44. Temple College would tie the game up again near the ten minute mark, 50-50, and the Texans would force two more ties but were unable to regain the lead again in the game, falling 73-70.
The Texans were led by sophomore post Myles Walker who scored 12 points and just missed a double-double with nine rebounds in 32 minutes of playing time. Malik Smith also scored in double figures with 11 points.
Also for SPC, Kenny Brown, Khaliq Gross, and Brandon Pitts all scored seven points, while Tramar Sutherland, Josh Orta and Antwain Thomas each scored six points. Bo Ingram added five points.
The Texans will return to action on Friday, November 13th at 7 p.m. when they open up the Texan Classic versus Lon Morris College. They will play Lubbock Christian's junior varsity squad at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
