CHARLES “BO” OUTLAW – INDUCTED 2008

Bo Outlaw arrived at South Plains College in the fall of 1989, bringing with him a lanky 6'8", 200-pound frame and the raw athleticism that would define his career. He made an immediate impact as a freshman, earning honorable mention on the All-WJCAC team.

In his sophomore season, Outlaw elevated both his game and the program, leading the Texans to a remarkable 32–1 record during the 1990–91 campaign. His dominant play earned him NJCAA All-American recognition before he continued his collegiate career at the University of Houston.

Though undrafted out of college, Outlaw’s determination and work ethic propelled him forward. He began in the CBA before signing with the Los Angeles Clippers in 1993, officially launching his NBA journey. In 1997, he joined the Orlando Magic, where he quickly became a fan favorite. The 1997–98 season stands as one of the finest of his professional career, as he appeared in all 82 games, averaging 36 minutes per contest while showcasing the relentless energy that became his trademark.

Known across the league as “the hustler,” Outlaw’s spirit left a lasting imprint on the Magic organization. The franchise honored his legacy by creating the “Bo Hustle Award,” presented to employees who exemplify his trademark diligence, attitude, and commitment.

After 15 seasons in the NBA, Outlaw retired from the Magic in 2008, closing the chapter on a career defined by grit, resilience, and an unwavering passion for the game. His journey—from SPC standout to respected NBA veteran—remains a testament to hard work and heart.
