Brangers scores 15, represents South Plains at 2017 NJCAA Men's Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Game in Vegas

It's every athlete's dream.

When the lights shut off in the arena at season's end, the feeling sets in – It's over.

'I'd do anything to play just one more game.' A phrase that gets thrown around often when the feeling becomes reality.

For Jordan Brangers, a 6-foot-2 sharpshooter from Radcliff, Kentucky, that wish was granted on Saturday night as he slipped on his No. 23 South Plains College jersey one last time at the 2017 NJCAA Men's Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Game at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

"I got to wear our white home South Plains jersey again, and I can't explain how it felt to wear that jersey one more time," Brangers said. "It was big time. After the national tournament, I didn't know if I'd every get to put on that jersey again, and being able to play in Vegas and represent South Plains, it was big time."

Brangers was his usual self, finishing the game with 15 points in 14 minutes of action. The Div. I all-stars fell to the Div. II/Div. III all-stars 109-91, in a contest that Brangers says won't be forgotten anytime soon.

"It was a nice experience, and an honor to make the all-star team," Brangers said. "That was my first time being in Vegas, so it was a big time opportunity. I got the chance to hang out with most of the top players in the country and got to practice with them for about an hour before we played. It was an offensive showcase, for sure. I'll never forget it."

In a season in which Brangers led the county with 151 3s and set the school season and single game 3-point record, the once shadowed young scorer will take his talents to Western Kentucky University next season after helping lead the Texans to a No. 1 national ranking for 16 consecutive weeks and a third place finish at the 2017 NJCAA Men's Basketball National Tournament.

"I'd really like to thank coach Green, the entire coaching staff, and South Plains College for giving me the opportunity to come play here and help me showcase my abilities. I'd like to thank my teammates for putting me in the position to score the basketball, and it was a great year for us."
