Cross Country hosting South Plains College Invite Saturday

LEVELLAND - The South Plains College cross country teams are geared up for their lone cross country meet of the season Saturday with the South Plains College Cross Country Invitational.  In addition to the collegiate races, the meet will feature junior high and high school races beginning at 8:15 a.m.

The junior high boys and girls, junior varsity and varsity girls will each compete at a distance of two miles, while the junior varsity, varsity boys and collegiate women will cover 5,000 meters.  The collegiate men will run 8,000 meters.

Schools competing in the junior high and high school races are Lubbock Estacado, Petersburg, Denver City, Post, Levelland, Big Spring, Friona, Lubbock Monterey, and Lubbock High.  Collegiate teams scheduled to compete include South Plains, Sul Ross, Eastern New Mexico, Clarendon, Odessa, Ranger, Western Texas, New Mexico JC, and Midwestern.
