Tallam Kipruto took the individual championship, completing the 8,000-meter course in 26:08.00. Kipruto's SPC teammates, Mitchell Driver and Anthony Pequeno, finished second and third posting times of 28:03.00 and 28:32.00, respectively. Robert Castanon (29:01.00) finished fifth and Marcelis Lynch (29:40.00) was ninth to round out SPC's scoring five. Also competing for SPC were Tomilee Lloyd (10th in 29:50.00), Josh Harris (18th in 33:41.00), and Elijah Rollock (24th, 37:17.00).
Lisa Forsberg once again led the Lady Texans en route to winning the individual championship. Forsberg completed the 5,000-meter course in 20:13.00. Shayla Contreras (20:49.00) and Kadian Dunkley (21:05.00) also finished in the top ten with fifth and seventh place performances. Paulina Wilson (21:53.00) crossed the line in 13th place, while Crystal Dickinson (22:41.00) was 17th. Also competing for the Lady Texans were Paulina Engfoors (19th place, 23:16.00) and Lorianne Pattee (32nd place, 27:51.00).
The cross country squads will return to action when they travel to Roswell, N.M. on October 31 for the Region 5 cross country championships.
