LUBBOCK – The South Plains College Lady Texans saw their season come to an end Thursday afternoon with an 83-66 defeat to Collin County Community College in the women's quarterfinal round of the Region 5 Tournament held at Lubbock Christian University's Rip Griffin Center.

 

South Plains led 28-22 after a put back by Rafeegah Fataar with 7:24 to go in the first half.

LEVELLAND, Texas – Postseason play is scheduled to begin this week for both the Texan and Lady Texan basketball teams as the top-seeded SPC men will face Collin County at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 5 at 7 p.m. in the final contest of four quarterfinal games and the Lady Texans will play the second of four games Thursday, March 6 when they also take on Collin County at 2 p.m.
