LEVELLAND – The Texans and Lady Texans were well represented when the all-Conference and all-Region awards were announced earlier this month. Three Texans earned all-conference accolades, with Yanick Moreira leading the way earning the Most Valuable Player award for the WJCAC.
LUBBOCK – With only 16 seconds remaining in the Texans' quarterfinal ballgame against NTJCAC No. 1 seed Ranger College, the Texans led by a point and the Rangers did not hold for one final shot. Instead, Ranger's Tyler Ongwae took what could be described as an ill-advised attempt that, for a moment, looked to secure the Texans as first round winners. Instead, Ongwae picked up his rebound and was fouled by SPC's Ryan Martin, sending Ongwae to the line for a pressure-filled trip to the free throw line.
