LEVELLAND – South Plains College Texan and Lady Texan track and field head coach Chris Beene was honored by the South Plains College Board of Regents during their latest board meeting Thursday, June 13 in the SPC administration building.

Beene helped guide the Texan and Lady Texan track teams to three more NJCAA Championships this spring, sweeping the men's and women's indoor titles March 1-2 in Lubbock and then narrowly missing the sweep outdoors when the Texans won in a landslide and the Lady Texans finished as the runner-up.

HUTCHINSON, Kan. – The South Plains College Texan track and field team ran away from the competition and laid claim to their seventh consecutive team title when they finished the three days of competition with 140 team points Saturday evening at Gowans stadium in Hutchinson, Kan.

HUTCHINSON – With the regular season now over, the Texan and Lady Texan track and field teams will travel to Hutchinson, Kan., for the NJCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships where they will attempt to defend the titles they won last May in Levelland.

In fact, South Plains College has swept the last four men's and women's titles and the Texans are now seeking their seventh team championship in a row.
