#8 Lady Texans set for Pima College Classic Dec. 31-Jan. 2 in Tucson, AZ

LEVELLAND — Ranked 8th in the latest NJCAA women's basketball national poll, the South Plains College women's basketball team will return to the court on Dec. 31 at 5 p.m. MST against #23 Cochise College in Tucson, Arizona in their opening round contest at the Pima College Classic.

Following the contest, South Plains will tip off at 1 p.m. MST on Jan. 1 against Arizona Western College, followed by a matchup with Pima Community College at 3 p.m. MST on Jan. 2.

The Lady Texans have won 11 straight games including wins over No. 25 Midland and an 88-48 dismantling of Hill College on Dec. 9 at the Texan Dome. Led by sophomore Keke Hunter who leads the team in scoring with 17 points per game and also ranks first in the NJCAA with 81 offensive rebounds, South Plains is 9-1 on the road this season and a perfect 5-0 at the Texan Dome.

South Plains ranks first in the country in total points with 1331, seventh in the country with 88.7 points per game and fifth in the country allowing just 47.7 points per game on the year. Following the road trip out west, South Plains returns home for a conference matchup against Howard College at 5:45 p.m. on Jan. 7 in Levelland.
