South Plains College athletic department holds annual 'Meat the Texans' BBQ Cook-Off

LEVELLAND — The South Plains College athletic department hosted its annual 'Meat the Texans' BBQ Cook-Off on Wednesday on the west side of the Texan Dome which saw teams from across the area pull out their cookers and battle for bragging rights as the top BBQ extraordinaire.

South Plains faculty, staff, and students were treated to some of the best tasting BBQ in the area. At the end of it all, Tell Campbell of Smith South Plains Ford of Levelland was named the winner of the cook-off after each team submitted their fixings to the judges.

The South Plains College athletic department would like to congratulate Mr. Campbell and Smith South Plains Ford of Levelland and send a sincere thank you to all of our cookers and participants who made this event possible. The South Plains College athletic department will donate a portion of the proceeds to a scholarship at South Plains College on behalf of Smith South Plains Ford.
