MESA, Ariz. - The South Plains College Lady Texans fell to 3-11 on the season Friday evening when they were defeated 68-40 by Mesa Community College. Poor shooting played a large role in the loss as South Plains managed to make only 15-of-56 (.268) field goal attempts for the game.
Kayla Turner had a team high nine points but made only 3-of-16 shots overall and 2-of-9 3-point attempts. Jazzmin Hill had the best overall night with eight points and seven rebounds. Sydney Hearn contributed with seven points and six boards.
South Plains was also outrebounded 54-31.
The Lady Texans will look to get back on track Sunday, January 9 at 3 p.m. CST when they visit Phoenix College (5-10).
