GLENDALE, Ariz. - Sophomore Deshaunt Walker scored a game and season high 22 points coming off the bench to help the fourth-ranked South Plains College Texans to a 30-point victory over the Glendale College Gauchos Monday afternoon in a game every Texan player saw significant playing time and five players scored 10 points or more.
South Plains College took control of the game early on by jumping out to a 21 point lead midway through the first half. The Gaucho's crept back into the game by closing the gap to 10 points, but with the half winding down the Texans closed out on a 7-0 run to take a 53-36 lead to halftime.
The Texans (12-0) then scored 23 of the first 30 points of the second half to remove all doubt of who was in control of the contest, taking a commanding 76-43 lead with more than 14 minutes still left to be played and would go on to a dominating victory, 115-85.
