The NJCAA fourth-ranked and undefeated South Plains College Texans will return from a month long layoff when they take on Glendale Community College January 2 in the first of four games in the Phoenix, Ariz. area.

Currently 3-8 on the season, Glendale is slated to play two games before hosting the Texans (11-0). Game time is set for 5 p.m. CT.

On January 3 the Texans will face Mesa CC (7-3) at 8:30 p.m., followed by Chandler-Gilbert (8-4) at 2 p.m. January 5 and will then play their final non-conference game against Scottsdale (3-6) January 6 at 4 p.m.

Live video will be available January 3 versus Mesa and January 5 against Scottsdale. There is a possibility a live video webcast will be available January 2 at Glendale.

Through 11 games the Texans have averaged just less than 83 points per game while holding their opponents to only 65. Four players are averaging double-digits led by sophomore Marshall Henderson with 17.4. Freshman Yanick Moreira has averaged 13.7 per game in addition to 8.3 rebounds, while sophomores Malcolm Miller and Tymell Murphy have contributed 11.4 and 10.3, respectively.

Stanton Kidd chips in with 8.9 points and 6.7 rebounds.
