THATCHER, Ariz. - The South Plains College Lady Texans fell to 0-2 on the season after dropping a 61-54 game to Mesa Community College.

Second half free throw shooting appeared to be the key for Mesa who, after taking a 34-26 lead to the locker room, made only 6-of-31(.194) shots from the field in the second half. Mesa made up for their lack of shooting by nailing 14-of-17 from the charity stripe to seal the game.

Kayla Turner was the only Lady Texan to score in double figures, finishing the game with 10 points making 4-of-9 shots from the field. Sophomore Ashley Roberts added nine.

The SPC women will attempt to right the ship when they play their first home game against Region 5 opponent Cisco College Saturday, November 12 at 2 p.m. in the Texan Dome.
