THATCHER, Ariz. - Sophomore Ashley Roberts scored 25 points and dished out four assists in the season opener for the South Plains College Lady Texans, but that was not enough as the SPC women dropped their season opener to Eastern Arizona College by the score of 68-57.

Freshmen Kayla Turner and Shea Myatt contributed heavily for the Lady Texans. Turner scored 13 points and pulled down seven rebounds, while Myatt added six points and 10 rebounds.

The Lady Texans look to get their first victory of the season Saturday when they square off with Mesa Community College at 11 a.m. (MST).
