LUBBOCK, Texas - The fall rodeo season has been fast and furious for the South Plains College Texans and Lady Texans and is now winding down with their fifth rodeo in as many weekends being contested October 20-22 at the Texas Tech Equestrian center.
South Plains College will be well represented in each of the sessions at Texas Tech, and will have 10 athletes competing in the first performance Thursday evening at 7 p.m. Slack will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. In addition to Thursday, evening performances will take place beginning at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Texas Tech's equestrian center is located in Southwest Lubbock near Wolfforth. From Brownfield Highway/Marsha Sharp Freeway, get off on Upland Avenue. Go north about one mile to 50th Street. From there, go one mile to Alcove Avenue and then south about half a mile to the entrance. Admission to Friday and Saturday slack is free. Texas Tech will charge for admittance to the performances.
