LEVELLAND, Texas - Levelland native Blake Myers sunk a hole-in-one on the first day of the Dennis Patton Texan Club Scholarship Scramble held April 30 at the Levelland Country Club. The par 3 sixth hole was set at 158 yards.
The hole-in-one opportunity was sponsored Smith South Plains of Levelland, who awarded Myers with a two-year lease on a 2011 Ford Escape for sinking the shot.
Myers recently finished a degree in petroleum engineering at Texas Tech University and will be moving to Houston to begin his career. He said that although the shot did not feel any different from any other, members of his group began talking about it possibly going in soon after he hit it.
Witnesses of the shot include Jacob Kirkland, Clay Hutchinson, and Matt Munoz.
