LEVELLAND, Texas - The South Plains College Texan and Lady Texan track and field teams will compete in their second outdoor meet of the year when they travel to Lubbock tomorrow for the Texas Tech Invitational.
 
The meet could potentially produce very good performances as weather is projected to be very good with temperatures in the mid-70's when field events begin at 11 a.m. and mid-80's as running events begin at 3 p.m.
 
Isaiah Gill will have an opportunity to run very fast in the men's 400 meter hurdles as he will be in the same section two of the top hurdlers in the nation. Additionally, Rondell Bartholomew will run his first outdoor 400 meter race of the season. Bartholomew is the indoor national record holder at that distance.
 
Natoya Goule, who rewrote the record books during the indoor season, will look for a fast time in the 800 meters, while Jura Levy and Janelle Redhead duke it out in the women's 400 meters. 100 meter hurdle co-record holder Janeil Bellille will have a chance to claim the fastest time in school history when she takes on a quality field.
 
Teams competing at the Texas Tech Invitational include Abilene Christian, Angelo State, Eastern New Mexico, Langston, Lubbock Christian, McMurry, New Mexico JC, Oral Roberts, UTEP, Wayland Baptist, West Texas A&M, and Western Texas.
 
Field events begin at 11 a.m. with the javelin and the first running event is the 4x100 meter relay at 3 p.m.
