ODESSA, Texas - The SPC rodeo teams traveled to Odessa last weekend and were led by Blake Gagnon
who finished with 50 points and a fifth place finish in steer wrestling.
Gagnon snuck into Saturday's final performance after finishing with a ninth place time of 7.5 seconds. In the final Gagnon's time of 6.6 seconds was the fourth quickest in the round and gave him a two day total of 14.1 seconds.
Teammate Ben Ramey
entered the event ranked second in the Southwest region but was unable to advance to the final. Fortunately, Ramey remains firmly in the mix for a berth to the College National Finals as he only fell to third place and trails second place by 15 points and first place by 55 points.

finished the first round tied for sixth with a performance of 7.6 seconds to earn 10 points. The duo were unable to record a time in the final.
J.T. Pettitt also advanced to the championship round in bull riding with a score of 67, but struggled in the final and did not record a score.
The Texan and Lady Texan rodeo teams will return to action when they travel to Big Spring to compete in the Howard College rodeo April 14-16.
