Former South Plains College standouts Myles Walker and Tramar Sutherland will be playing in the NCAA March Madness tournament set to begin March 15. Teams qualifying for the post-season tournament will find out exactly when and where they will be playing when the tournament field is finalized on ‘Selection Sunday,' March 13.
Walker, who now plays for Indiana State University, played 31 minutes in the Sycamores tourney clinching game against Missouri State in which ISU won the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) championship game 60-56. Walker scored five points, grabbed five rebounds, and also recorded three blocks in the game. He started all 33 games during the Sycamore season and ranked fourth in the MVC in blocked shots per game.
Playing for the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, Sutherland has played in 33 games for the Trojans, averaging 9-minutes per game. He played 11 minutes and scored six points to help the Trojans knock off North Texas 64-63 in the championship game of the Sun Belt conference tournament.
Both Walker and Sutherland played for the Texans from 2008-2010.
