LEVELLAND, Texas - The South Plains College Texans and Lady Texans host New Mexico Junior College at the Texan Dome Thursday, February 24 and Ameriprise Financial invites all SPC employees to come to the game to enjoy a reception that will include a fajita dinner from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. to go along with the games. The dinner will be served in the Texan Club and the hallway of the west wing of the Texan Dome.

Tip-off is scheduled for 5:45 p.m. for the Lady Texans and 7:45 p.m. for the Texans. Employees of South Plains College are eligible to register for a chance to win a $100 cash giveaway, courtesy of Mike Mamantov and Ameriprise Financial.

The Lady Texans (18-8, 7-4) are coming off an 87-63 non-conference victory over Clarendon College and have secured a spot in next month's Region 5 tournament by way of Howard College's Monday night loss to Odessa College. A victory over New Mexico Junior College (20-8, 6-5) on Thursday night would send the Lady Texans to the regional tournament as the No. 3 seed from the Western Junior College Athletic Conference (WJCAC). A loss would likely make South Plains the No. 4 seed.

The men's game will feature a contest in which both teams have everything to play for. South Plains (16-12, 5-8) is one game behind New Mexico (19-8, 6-7) for the fourth and final spot from the WJCAC. A Texan victory over the Thunderbirds would force a tie in the standings and South Plains College owns the tie breaker by way of their January 20 victory over Odessa College, currently the WJCAC No. 3 seed.

Fans who cannot attend Thursday's games can tune in to NTS channel 63 for coverage provided by SPC TV. For those outside the coverage area, a live video stream may be accessed by visiting www.spctexans.com. HPRN's Michael Wiiest will call the courtside action for KLVT 1230 AM and www.hprnetwork.com.
