The Lady Texans (13-7, 4-1) look to end the first half of conference play on top of the Western Junior College Athletic Conference but will have to defeat New Mexico Junior College (12-10, 3-2) tonight to do so. The two are set to tangle at 5:45 p.m.
The Texans (13-7, 3-3) hope to build on a two game winning streak and remain in contention for a bid to the Region 5 tournament. SPC is coming off a 75-70 victory over the New Mexico Military Institute on Saturday and are in a three-way tie for third place in the WJCAC with tenth ranked Odessa College (18-4, 3-3) and Frank Phillips (17-5, 3-3), both whom face tough opponents tonight. Odessa squares off with number one ranked Midland College (22-0, 6-0), while Frank Phillips goes toe-to-toe with seventh ranked Howard College (18-2, 5-1).
The Texans and Thunderbirds tip-off at 7:45 p.m.
This evening also marks SPC's annual homecoming event, which will take place at halftime of the Lady Texan game. Also, SPC students attending tonights game as well as every remaining home game will have a chance to win $50 cash at halftime of the Lady Texan and Texan game.
